Product overview
Rice bran is the fine outer layer of the rice grain that is removed during milling. It is a by-product of the rice industry and is rich in protein, fats, dietary fiber, vitamins and minerals. It is most commonly used as animal feed. It is also the raw material for rice bran oil extraction and, once stabilized, can be used as a food ingredient.Rice bran contains natural oils and active enzymes, which is why it is valuable and also why it must be handled with care. Fresh bran deteriorates quickly if it is not processed or stored properly.

Storage Tips for Buyers
Follow these recommendations to preserve bran quality and reduce the risk of spoilage during storage.
Keep It Dry
Protect bran from rain, humidity and moisture to reduce the risk of microbial growth and quality deterioration.
Use It Fresh or Stabilized
Fresh, untreated bran can become rancid quickly. For longer storage, confirm whether the bran has been stabilized to slow the deterioration of its fats.
Store in a Cool, Shaded Area
Keep bran away from direct sunlight and excessive heat, which can accelerate fat oxidation and rancidity.
Use Clean, Sealed Packaging
Keep bags securely closed and undamaged to limit exposure to air, moisture and pests.
Check for Spoilage
Inspect for unusual sour or bitter odors, clumping and visible mold. Do not use material showing signs of spoilage for food or animal feed.
Rotate Inventory
Follow the First-In, First-Out (FIFO) method and purchase quantities appropriate for your expected usage and storage conditions.
Maintain Clean Storage
Keep bran away from chemicals, fuels and strong odors. Store bags on pallets or shelving rather than directly on the floor.
