Product overview

Rice is one of the world’s major staple crops and an important agricultural product in Pakistan. From harvesting to milling, the rice production process generates several materials used in food production, agriculture and industrial applications.

Paddy, also known as rough rice, is the harvested rice grain with its outer protective husk still intact. After harvesting, paddy is typically dried and cleaned before being processed at a rice mill.

The husk protects the rice grain during its growth and development. During milling, this outer layer is removed to release the grain inside.

Sindh is one of Pakistan’s important rice-growing provinces. In areas such as Tando Muhammad Khan, rice cultivation and milling contribute to the local agricultural economy and generate materials that can be supplied to different industries.

The rice milling process separates the grain from its outer husk, creating an agricultural by-product that can be collected, processed and supplied for appropriate commercial uses.

At ZS Husk Pro Enterprises, our focus includes the sourcing, processing and bulk supply of agricultural biomass materials. Rice husk represents an opportunity to make productive use of a material generated during rice milling, supporting industrial customers seeking biomass inputs for their operations.

Storage Tips for Buyers

Follow these recommended practices to maintain rice quality and ensure safe storage.

Keep It Dry

Moisture is the main threat to both paddy and rice. Rice that is not properly dried or that is stored in humid conditions spoils more easily. Paddy should be cleaned and dried to a safe moisture level before storage.

Store it in a cool, dry place

Avoid exposure to moisture and sunlight. Choose a well-ventilated area away from direct heat.

Keep out pests

Rice can be infested by insects such as rice weevils, and rodents and birds can cause extensive damage in poorly protected storage. Use storage that rodents cannot get into, and keep the area clean.

Watch for hot spots

Insect activity can create hot spots in stored grain. Check large stocks regularly, not just at the surface.

Avoid condensation

In outdoor or plastic storage, moisture can condense on the top layers when temperatures change sharply. Keep stock in a shaded, protected place.

Inspect regularly

Look for webbing, larvae, live insects, mold, clumping or a musty smell. Separate any suspect stock immediately.

Rotate your stock

Use older stock first and minimize the time rice spends in storage.
